Time Cries:  9/11 Poems by Bruce B. Wilmer

"We are all up in the air
     And remain that way
  Through life,
 Whether or not we take
To the skies,
As we thread in and out
Of this and that
                  Intersection of fate. . ."

(from Four Fateful Flights, p. 17)

TIME CRIES is a collection of poems by Bruce B. Wilmer written in response to the horrific events of 9/11/01 and the ongoing struggle to come to terms with the implications of that day. The poems recount the immediate aftermath of that tragic morning and describe certain key events in the months and years following. They pay tribute to the heroes who nobly defined courage at the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in the air. With powerful images, the author paints an unforgettable picture of 9/11 and puts it in a context of pain, recovery, remembrance and hope.

Many of the poems will resonate far beyond that day and its trail of memories into countless other situations where the unexpected takes hold of life and challenges the human spirit to continue moving forward.

The author's immense gratitude and honor for those who selflessly served, coupled with great compassion for the loved ones left behind, make the reading of this book an intensely moving experience. He hopes it will play a small part in the healing process and provide the searching spirit with another modest tool for survival.

Bruce is a native New York poet who has chronicled people's emotions and feelings for over 35 years. He has touched millions around the world with his heartfelt and accessible poetry.
